I have been working for 7 years in Germany now in a home office setting and I just learned today that as a rule, holiday in Germany is dictated on where I live and not where the employer resides. And all because I filed a holiday for the first time for Oct. 31 so I can take the kids to Halloween Party. 😅
I checked the Official Holidays between Hessen (where Boss is) and Saxony (where I live) and found out that there are 2 more holidays in my area. This means that I have worked 14 days more than I should in total.
Oct. 31: Reformation Day
Nov. 20: Repentance Day
Ignorance is not always a bliss!
I was lamenting about being an idiot for not checking when a traitor a.k.a husband said:
But you also pretended to work a lot. Probably more as 6 months in total.
And of course that is not true true. PROMISE!
Do you know about this rule in Germany yet?
