Boy’s Schulanfang and Moritzburg

In Germany, first day of grade school is a celebrated event. So from Munich, we raised back home, prepared the house for Mann’s relatives and of course for the schulanfang which will be held the next day.

I do not know how it works in other school but in a Christian school like ours, kids meet in the school with their Ranzen (a kind of a school bag), then everyone goes to church where a mass was held with some presentations from older kids to welcome the newcomers. The finale is the giving of school cones filled with gifts and candies.

And for us as a family, we had lunch together afterwards in a nearby asian restaurant, spent an hour walking around Moritzburg Castle before going back home where we all had dinner at the house.

So, my boy is officially a first grader and he has his family behind him.

P.S. An old german version of Cinderella movie uses Moritzburg Castle as its location.

Greetings,

Karlota
