Free Books

Every school year in Philippines, parents pay thousands for school books.

In Germany, books are recycled and free.  So kids received a book, cover it and must take care of it for the whole year. Then at the end of school year, plastic cover is removed and ready for the next kid.

They have a special way of covering books here that I had to learn. Asked my girl to bring one of her friend’s book so I get to see how they did it.  Now, I can say that I am a pro.

But in the beginning, I had to pay some fine because I basically thought it’s ours so I wrote my girl’s name and have it covered like how I knew it.

Wouldn’t it be nice if Philippines has the same system? Currently, it is not pro-student but a lot of money went to the publishing company and a lot of trash is being generated every year.

How is school system in your country?

Greetings,

Karlota
