Laundrymat @52

Our oldboy turned 52 today. But in all fairness, Mann looked better at 52 than other guys who are even younger than him. I guess you would know if a man drinks/smoke/take drugs in their youth by how they are in their 50s.

His cake must be a mango float of course with a candle that I accidentally broke. And I gave him a polvoron which I love and would likely eat most of it. I am lovely like that. 😁

His birthday was spent at a laundrymat because it’s been 6 days since our washing machine went kaputt and I really hope the new one will be delivered by Monday. The cost of washing and drying in total is 15,9€. If we do this every week, it will cost about 800 euro per year and a regular washing machine costs only about 400 euro or so. I don’t know how much electricity it costs to use a washing machine but I can only assume it is much cheaper to get one than use a laundrymat in the long run.

The kids find it boring for a birthday to be spent at a laundrymat but they find ways to entertain themselves. Somehow, staring at the clothes going around in circles was fascinating. But I find it a good day nevertheless. This is reality. Birthdays or not, we still have to go and do this shit. It’s a grounding experience that we all need once in a while.

Greetings,

Karlota
