In girl’s class, their Mathe/Homeroom teacher invited them to register Mathe im Advent where everyday from Dec 1 – 24, a Mathe problem is given out for kids to solve. There are prizes to be won of course but with almost 200,000 participants, the chances of winning is slim.
Nevertheless, I am interested in my girl to be part of this activity. The brain needs to be wired to see, understand and solve word problems. I assisted/ showed her how to solve the first two problems and left her to do the rest. She did quite well based on the results until I asked her to show me her solution and she said that the copilot helped. 😱 I went nuts for a minute there because there is no copilot in school and it does not help her think at all. Seriously, what is wrong with the people nowadays relying on copilot or KI.
Girl said that she used only copilot two times, the 3 jokers for questions she does not really understand because seriously, I think they are for a higher level than grade 5 anyway. The rest of the advent doors, I simply make sure I am with her when she is answering the questions. Just to see she does not use copilot anymore. And when I asked her again how she came up with the answers just to see her thought process, I cannot help but think how smart my girl is.
