Street Criminal

Mann received a lovely letter from Berlin Police for driving more than 30 km/hr. And for this, Mann needs to pay 50€ or about 3000 pesos. Ouch!

Mann was not happy of course and he was complaining about this daylight robbery. But what can he do? There is no denying that that was him in the picture which served as an evidence.

Showed the letter to my mom and guess what? They received a subpoena/Vorladung summoning them to be present at the court like some criminal. Their capital sin is for turning left when it was a “no left turn” street. And penalty for this street crime is the same in Germany: 3000 pesos or about 50€.

Now if you compare the salary rate between Germany and Philippines of regular people and then you get fined with the same amount? 😱 One might say it is unfair. I can only hope that it will help Filipino learn some discipline.

Or maybe not. After all, didn’t Mann got fined as well?

Greetings,

Karlota
