We thought of flying to Finland, renting a car, hop on a boat and then some days in Estonia to see 2 countries but we decided on a road trip instead and hit 6 countries over the span of 3 weeks:
Czech Republic
Slovakia
Italy
Slovenia
Croatia
Austria
So hotels have been booked and in the meantime, I have work to enjoy and kids activity to plan.
On another topic, my american cousin might just come and visit us in March or May. I mentioned that she can stay in our house but I wonder if there would be more peace of mind if she books her own hotel and we just meet up somewhere. And no, we are not driving 3 hours back and forth just to pick her up at the airport. Filipinos are known to be hospitable but to what end? Setting boundaries is always good and unfortunately, I do not bend backward to please people like I owe them anything or hope that they owe me something for future use.
So we will see how that goes. On the other hand, I am happy for my kids to see other family members. Mann asked me if I have interest in flying over and visiting them in America someday too and I said: only when there is a change of President. 😁
