Boss sent a meeting invitation and enclosed in the E-mail are two resumes of two people from Cebu and currently working at the same company I worked for prior to moving to Germany.
My opinion was requested. We needed an external freelance team who knows the topic like the back of their hand. We currently have an external team from India which if possible I try to avoid working with. Not only the quality of work is a big question mark but they annoy me with basic questions like how to get the density, etc. HELLO! Ever heard of google? Can they not be resourceful enough to learn/find things on their own?
I learned that the expected salary of these two Filipinos was much lower than the Indian external. Like the company can hire two Filipinos for one Indian. And it tells you a lot about the Philippines. The capitalist and government squeezed them down and kept them low for a work of 48 hours per week that they do not know just how big and wide the world is outside that box.
And I gave my honest opinion. I know that company. The German branch trained them so quality is not a question. Their salary is nothing compared to someone who works in Germany of course but we pay shit crazy tax among others. Still, I am happy to know that they will be booked for a fixed hour regardless if there is work or not and salary is 4 times more than what they are currently earning.
I am happy for them and I know they will be hired after my ahem, glowing recommendations. And yes, slowly but shortly, we are transitioning away from the Indian external and making way for the Bisdak Team with me at the helm. Bwahahaha! I can already imagine us talking shit crazy in bisaya while munching on some nuts and pretending to work. 🤣
