Back in Germany for 2 weeks now. From Copenhagen, we drove to Gedser for 2 hours and took a roro called Scandlines Ferry and after 2 hours, we are back again in Germany. But before going home, we made a stopover in Uckermark to visit important places like the Wasserburg where we got married, Mann’s old house and neighbors and the cemetery to see if his father still lived there.
Denmark is lovely. Wouldn’t mind returning there actually in perhaps 10 years or so. The world is big after all and wouldn’t want to be stuck in the same place every summer. The same way I put my foot down and declared not wanting to step foot in the Philippines and Belgium for the next 10 years also.
So to summarize what I have learned/experienced in Denmark:
- The cost of food is perhaps 20% more than the prices in Germany.
- They are comfortable with their skin. At the waterpark in Lalandia, I lost count of how many vajayjay I saw.
- I saw more electric vehicle charging stations than gasoline stations and thankfully, it does not look like the place is flooded with Chinese cars.
- Parking is painful at around 40€ per day. No wonder they go for bicycles instead.
- Everyone speaks English. This is a lovely surprise because in the small town where I live, I know of only 2 people who can speak English with me. I am sure there are more people but since I kept a tight circle with my social life, I only know of 2.
And that is about it I suppose. We are thinking of flying to Sweden or Finland next year. We will see.
Greetings,
Karlota
