Our hotel is a few minutes walk away to what Schwerin is famous for – Schwerin Castle.
And of course we had to get inside because it was raining cats and dogs. Part museum and part office of the state parliament, we were able to see the inside of the castle for as little as 8,5€ (500 pesos) for adults. Kids below 18 years enjoy it for free.
The place was grand especially the throne room. The house of Mecklenburg still exists today with the current Head being Borwin who owns the title of Duke of Mecklenburg. But the Germans and the world do not care about them as the people would for the House of Windsor, the reigning house of the United Kingdom.
