Island Fyn

Denmark has 1400 islands and the third largest of them is Fyn or Funen. At the northernmost point is Fyns Hoved and it is where we rented another vacation house for the weekend.

Unfortunately, fyns hoved camping place is quite popular but at least I was lucky enough to get a cabin that has a running water. The bathroom unfortunately is some meters away which we have to organize short before and after sleeping. Also, the cabin does not have a wifi.

What the cabin lacks however, it makes up for the beauty of the nature surrounding it. Cool salty sea breeze, shells and stones collect which can be used for building cairns also, a good fishing spot (lots of people are there for fishing purposes) and several walking trails to explore.

Of course we also explore surrounding towns like Kerteminde where we chanced upon a Cherry Festival. Lots of cherries were being sold here from cherry ice cream to knitted goods with cherries designed on it.

The Viking Museum in Ladby is where Denmark’s oldest Royal Tomb was discovered back in 1930s. Here is where a nameless king was laid to rest in his viking ship along with dead horses, dogs, weapons and other valuable items in the year 925. Perhaps to set him up ready and rich also in the after life.

And finally Odensee for the mall at Rosengard center because whether we like it or not, we are and always will be city people and a few meters away also is Go Monkey Forest where my kids learned to use the harness and hang around the forest.

All in all, it was a good weekend.

Greetings,

Karlota
