Cheesecake

In celebration of Mann’s coming of age, we have this cheesecake from Dr. Oetker Käsekuchen.

Instructions are all there but I still messed it up because I forgot to add an egg. Imagine if I made the whole thing from scratch. That would be a disaster. So I pat myself on the back for remembering the egg before its too late as I removed the batter from the baking form again.

I made a bit of changes here on the cheese topping however. Box calls for 500 grams speisequark and 300 grams joghurt. But I cannot stand speisequark. So instead I used 600 grams doppelrahm Frischkäse (double cream cream cheese) and 150 grams yoghurt. And it came out perfect. PROMISE!

Added the usual sweet/sour mangoes that is commonly available in Germany which is either imported from Spain or South America (cannot compare with Asian mangoes) as toppings and voila!

Happy birthday to our papa who is turning up like grumpy Carl Fredricksen with every passing year. 🤭
