We are a company who supports home office. So we are all in differents parts of Germany and saw each other twice a month on a small screen during a team’s meeting. But a Betriebsausflug (company outing) was planned and we all traveled to meet each other for a team building.
My train got delayed for 2 hours and unlike travelling on a plane, you are basically on your own. The DB app I downloaded does not give me options or other available connections. So I went to Google and pretend to book a train ticket just to know the time of the next train and which platform to run to. With less than 5 minutes, I managed to check-in to my hotel, drop my backpack and run to meet my colleagues.
Kochevent is where we cook and eat dinner together and theme was Asian food which I love. It is not perfect because people went crazy on soya sauce thinking that is how it is done in Asia. But we all got busy, learned a thing or two, finally met each other and somehow, our stomach got stuffed. It was a good day.
This was the first time we got a Betriebsausflug in this scale and I wouldn’t mind if this becomes an annual thing. I forgot how fun it was traveling alone, being alert and on my toes. For the last 12 years, I was happily being led by Mann and be lazy as he take care of everything but before Mann, I was not so bad actually. And it was nice to remember that. So if there is another such event with my company, they can count me in. 😁
