One of the prizes in a game during this pinoy picnic gathering is an ampalaya. Not money or anything grand but ampalaya or bitter gourd. And I tried hard to win it but unfortunately, my stubby legs can only get me so far within a given time.
Thankfully, a Pinay who will be travelling to Philippines for a 6-months stay does not need them and are giving them away among other goodies. I kept the seeds and hopefully I can grow them come spring.
