Klaviervorspiel

First “performance” of my boy last night. A culmination of what he has learned since January.

So he went there at the front, introduced himself and what he will play before sitting on the adjusted seat in front of the piano. He was the youngest and the smallest so he get to open the stage. And as parents, we are happy with what he has learned so far. I hope he is happy as well but that is for him to decide.  🤭

I was asked if my kids decide the instrument by themselves and to be honest, I am confused.  If left to their own device, they will just sit all day, play video games or watch tv and waste their lives away.

I am happy and honest enough to declare that I am a dictator however. 😁 Basically, until the kids tell me that they have something better in mind that they would rather do or learn instead, then they go with my flow in the meantime.  So far, it works with us.

Back with the recital, the boy did well and he was grinning proudly with himself after hearing the applause. And then we get to hear the other students also with the oldest being 18 and playing the classical Für Elise by Beethoven.  Something my boy will be able to do also later if he kept on learning the piano.

I gave him the ball but it is up to him to keep it rolling or not.  Later this evening, my girl will have her violin recital next.

Greetings,

Karlota
