Being part of the Committee is tiring. We arrived early to help set up the place and even Mann and our kids did some work with Mann doing the heavy lifting carrying tables and chairs.
Then I get to eat last, on my feet most of the time because I don’t know why they set the limit of 100 guests when the capacity at most is only 80. But that was all fine with me because it’s for the community. What annoys me however is when there was a German guy loitering in the kitchen and I asked him if he could cut the two roasted chicken into pieces so that people could easily get a piece for themselves. We have kids after all who love eating chicken. He looked at me as if I asked him to save the world. But still, all is good because maybe he is a special person or something. However, his Filipina partner/wife/girlfriend/ or whatever they are went to do the work and he remains standing there being completely useless. As if working in the kitchen is just beneath him.

As soon as Mann enters the kitchen however, I asked Mann to do it instead. Just to free the woman from the job and hopefully shame that useless man. Yes, real men do kitchen work also.
The party was a success by the way. We waited long enough until Santa Claus to arrive, distributed the gifts before calling it a night. We still have 50km to travel back home, 4 bunnies to settle for the night, kids need to be in bed at the same time regardless if its christmas or new year and frankly, I do not have any power left to stay longer to help clean and do the dishes.
Good thing this is just an annual thing. Until next year again.
P.S. Because I was busy, Mann filled three of our tupperwares for food to take home like a true Filipino. 🤩
Greetings,
Karlota
