A Stroll in Basel

Check-in time of our hotel near Zurich is at 15:00 so we thought to explore Basel, Switzerland first via city train from Weil am Rhein to Marktplatz right in front of a 500 year old red building called Basel Town Hall.

From there, we just walked around for an hour or so to enjoy the scenery with a stop at botanical garden that does NOT have an entrance fee.  I need to make an emphasis on that because we appreciate the free items as much as the next person.

Currency used in Switzerland is called Swiss Franc which is equivalent to some cents more than Euro.  The price however is twice if not three times more than what we are used to in Germany so we made a mental note that before heading to Zurich, we need to  do some grocery shopping in Weil am Rhein, where the car was still parked, for items like water, fruits, bread and children’s snack to help lower down the cost at least.

Enjoy some of the pictures and video.

Greetings,

Karlota
