Balance

How does one balance between the lives of people?

On one hand, we have a 70 year old woman, who has not really worked most of her life and does not  contribute much in the social funds set by Germany and she is a German citizen.

On the other hand are two small kids, also German citizens.

As we know, Mann is currently not working much (70 hours per month instead of the usual 140 hours). If we calculate the earnings and expenses, we meet the balance of the bare minimum of our living standard. This means, piano and violin lessons for the kids, utilities are paid, food on the table and an annual holiday within Europe. However savings for the future in case kids wanted to go to university are currently on hold until further notice.

Then last week, the old woman went to the hospital, needed 4 bags for blood transfusion, discovered that she has cancer and will require a minimum of 3000 euro per month to keep her running. For how long exactly, I do not know. A month? A year? Half a decade?

The question is who is going to pay for all that? Definitely not Mann. This is what makes Germany and its current system a huge pile of sheeeet.  Money is being drawn from young healthy working people to pay for the old woman and millions of others like her. Have you seen the movie Matrix? Yes, that is us, young working folks serving like batteries for the system.

Ideally, this should all be fine! Unfortunately, not many are making babies nowadays so there will be an imbalance sooner than expected. Yes, Germany will be screwed!

So the question is, as inhuman as it may sound, do we take care of the old and risk the future or we say bye bye old lady? 🤔

P.S. When my time comes, I’d happily go for Passive Euthanasia myself. That would be my final act of love for my children and grandchildren. But that is just me being a practical bitch. 😁

Greetings,

Karlota
