Odong, Sardines and Rente

I checked the pension department and asked for a Summary of how much monthly taxable pension I will receive when I retire at the age of 70.

And the feedback was depressing. Unlike some Filipino parents who made their children as their retirement plans, this is not the case with my parents. And I would consider myself a failure if I cannot support myself in my old age like how my parents are at the moment.

So, I need to do something about my finances right now. But what? 🤔 I still do not know.

Thankfully, the SSS or Philippine Pension count in Germany also. And Mann informed me that I should receive some money if he dies earlier (which he cannot because that is just too much trouble for me who is freaking lazy to be fluent in German after all these years).

Yes, getting old sucks. And I am not looking forward to it. Still, after all these years, not counting on the expenses for my kids, I live very cheaply personally.  I will survive on sardines and rice. In fact, still enjoy and crave for it.  So, if and when it does happen and I am still able to clean up after myself, I think I will survive with my itty bitty pension.

If the system still work that is. After all, population in Germany is shrinking. 😵‍💫

Greetings,

Charlotte
