I have 16 years of experience in my line of work involving material compliance. Still, I was asked if I am interested in taking an exam to test my knowledge. If passed, I will receive a certificate that says: ahem Karlota, an Expert in Material Compliance, passed the test on this day blah blah.
I wondered for a moment if I will be fired if I fail. Still, I would find it embarrassing so I read and reviewed the rules, regulations and whatnots. Was the expectation rate for recoverable at 90% from 2015 again or was that 80%? Grrr, how can I remember all these numbers when I can always look it up if needed for work.
Nevertheless, I studied and of course I passed. I would like to frame that certificate but somehow, I wonder if it is even useful when my customer is a bloody idiot that simply relies on the system who automatically checks the data based on some program as if everything can be generalized by one single rule. Outliers from said program will immediately result to a warning and hence, rejection of my report.
If everything will be manned by AI someday, then I am scared of the future because people would refuse to think for themselves and just let the AI make the robotic decisions.
Greetings,
Karlota
