Driving straight from Piran to Czech Republic took almost 9 hours.
It could have been worse, a lot worse, but thankfully we were lucky. Minimal traffic and our trusty old touran volkswagen car did not die on us. With a stopover for lunch that I cannot even remember anymore, we arrived late afternoon at Aquapalace. It will be our last “hurrah” for this summer holiday before going back home to our usual routine all broke with loads of dirty clothes but more family memories to get us by until the next holiday again.
Aquapalace is nothing like Berlin’s tropical island. But the kids don’t really care do they? They see water and they dive right in.
My girl told me once that her friends asked her what her favorite cocktail was and she said she prefers rabbits instead. 🫣 She thought that cocktail means some kind of bird or chicken because “cock” is a rooster and tail for a tail like those of peacocks. If their papa is a black tea drinker and mama is a matcha tea drinker, they do not really know much about drinks do they? So when Mann went back to the room to prepare for his gym time, I went to order a non-alcoholic cocktail for each of them. Quite pricey for a liquid but for once in their childhood, they get to try a cocktail at least. 😁
Summer Holiday 2026 is ending and time to get our head again to work and school. Boy is now in 3. klasse and girl in 6. klasse.
