I think that is the literal translation for Wasserburg. We saw this castle on the way home from Leisnig and simply had to make a quick stopover.
Nothing much on historical value except how it was owned from one family to another since the 15th century to be currently owned by the town who spent the money to restore it and turn it into a part museum, part pension and part restaurant.
There are bridges around it because wasserburg actually means moated castle but it is now completely dried up over the years. The place is lively, locals enjoying the lovely weather and a few steps away is the Mulde River where Mann and a few fishermen were hanging out.
