One of the cities in Germany that was not destroyed during the war is Erfurt. Like Jena, it has a university so a lot of young people walking around like they own the world. It is a good vibe.
We found a parking place nearby at 10 € per day although our hotel has its own parking space. But we arrived very early so we had to park somewhere and had a quick walking tour until we had to check in at 15:00.
And it was a lovely walk. Weather was giving us a glimpse of spring, the city is full of old stones and woods waiting to be admired and most of all, KIKA figures were littered everwhere so we paid attention on our surrounding. The kids did not even mind walking for hours just to be able to find these figures first.
I wouldn’t mind returning to Erfurt if you ask me. Especially when we discovered a very nice asian restaurant which was still within our budget of 10€ per meal instead of 25€ to 35€.
Yes, a city after my own heart.
Have you been to Erfurt yet?

Greetings,
Karlota
